{"id":6,"date":"2018-12-04T12:15:57","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T12:15:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/glyntraian.wordpress.com\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2020-03-10T00:26:10","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T00:26:10","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.glyntraian.org.uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-light-gray-color wp-block-paragraph\">Glyntraian is a local government community in Wrexham County Borough in North Wales.The parish of Glyntraian, in the Ceiriog Valley, was formed when the ancient parish of Llangollen was divided into three <em>traeanau*<\/em>: Llangollen Traean, Trefor Traean, and Glyn Traean &#8211; which later became known as Glyntraian. Historically, the area contained the ancient townships of Cilcochwyn, Crogeniddon, Crogenwladus, Erwallo, Hafodgynfor, Nantygwryd, Pennant and Talygarth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-light-gray-color wp-block-paragraph\">Nowadays, the Glyntraian community comprises the villages of Dolywern and Pontfadog and the hamlets of Llechrydau and Llwynmawr and parts of Castle Mill and Bronygarth. Since 1972, the area has been governed by Glyntraian Community Council (Welsh: <em>Cyngor Cymuned Glyntraian<\/em>), which replaced Glyntraian Parish Council (Local Government Act 1972).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-light-gray-color wp-block-paragraph\">Glyntraian borders the communities of Llansantffraid Glyn Ceiriog to the west and Chirk to the east, within Wrexham County Borough. To the north, Glyntraian shares a border with Denbighshire and to the south with Powys. The area also borders Shropshire to the south and east.
