{"id":17578,"date":"2020-03-17T12:53:17","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T12:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.glyntraian.org.uk\/?p=17578"},"modified":"2020-03-17T12:53:17","modified_gmt":"2020-03-17T12:53:17","slug":"covid-19-virus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.glyntraian.org.uk\/?p=17578","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Virus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Glyntraian Community Council, along with Community and\nParish Councils all over the UK, is well aware of the discomfort, distress and\nworry that the COVID-19 virus outbreak is bringing.&nbsp; Our recommendation is that you should follow\nthe advice of the Chief Medical Officer and keep the risk of infection and the\nspread of infection as low as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those of you who fall in to any of the high risk groups\nshould keep in touch with family and friends, and ask them to help with tasks\nthat you cannot complete yourself due to self-isolation, illness or\nhospitalisation of yourself or those you live with.&nbsp; At all times be mindful of all the hygiene\nadvice, together with other information contained on the webpage below:&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance\/stay-at-home-guidance-for-people-with-confirmed-or-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance\/stay-at-home-guidance-for-people-with-confirmed-or-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, those of you who are fit and healthy must observe\nall the recommendations concerning contact, hygiene and cleanliness on the\nabove webpage, especially if you are helping others.&nbsp; Also, prior to travelling ask yourself \u201cis my\njourney really necessary?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are self-isolating and have no access to immediate\nsupport from friends or family, please contact \u2018Helping Hands\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Helping Hands\u2019 is a local group of volunteers, supported by\nGlyntraian Community Council, who can provide practical help, support, advice\nand guidance for Glyntraian residents. &nbsp;Everybody needs a bit of extra support from\ntime to time and \u2018Helping Hands\u2019 makes sure people in need get support if they\nbegin to experience difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The coronavirus is now a serious risk to those aged over 70 and\nit is expected that in the coming weeks this group of people will need to\nremain in self-isolation at home, unable to shop or collect vital medication. &nbsp;&nbsp;For those in self-isolation without family or\nfriends to help, \u2018Helping Hands\u2019 volunteers will be able to assist with\ndelivering groceries and collecting prescriptions.&nbsp; If you have no access to family and friends\nfor support, please contact Davena Davies (Community Agent) on 07870 337091, or\nStephanie Masters (Clerk to Glyntraian Community Council) on 07535 733418.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We request that everyone remains calm in the developing situation and mindful of false versus factual information.\u00a0 The latest information from the UK Government can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public<\/a>.\u00a0 Listen for updates on the radio or TV. \u00a0If you have any concerns, please contact Davena Davies (Community Agent) on 07870 337091 or Stephanie Masters on <a>07535 733418<\/a>, who will call you straight back.
