On the 16 November there will only be a month left to respond to NRW’s (National Resources Wales) public consultation on the proposed new National Park. People are being encouraged to attend a drop-in event or sign up to an online event or submit a questionnaire with their feedback

Citizens Advice will be visiting the Ceiriog Valley again on the following dates:

Sessions are held between 10am and 1pm

Citizens Advice offer free, impartial, confidential advice on any topic, including employment, benefits and debt issues.

The first Repair Café session will be on 10^th October at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall from 2pm-4pm. Look for further details on the Glyntraian Community Council website and noticeboards nearer the time.

Glyntraian Community Council with support from Repair Cafe Wales is planning to start a repair cafe at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall in Dolywern in September.  Repair Cafés are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things (together). At the Repair Café you’ll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need. On clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, etc. You’ll also find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields.

You can bring your broken items from home and volunteer experts will help, advise and where possible fix what you bring in. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. You can also get inspired at the reading table – by leafing through books on repairs and DIY.

We will also have a PAT testing service available at the Repair Café to check for you whether small electrical items are safe to use.

We have a few volunteer fixers already but we’re on the lookout for more who can help mend or advise on bicycles, electrical items, sewing and fabric repairs at anything that typically needs fixing. If you have skills you’d be prepared to share as a Repair Café volunteer for a couple of hours once a month, please contact Richard Evans on 07971 185901 or richardeevans@gmail.com.

POLLING DAY – 4th July 2024

Voting will take place at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall as usual. However, due to a previous longstanding booking, voting will take place in the BACK ROOM of the Hall. When going to vote, please follow the signs to the BACK entrance of the Hall.

Glyntraian Community Council will be taking part in the 80^th Anniversary D-Day National Commemorations on the 6^th June.  We will be raising a Commemoration flag at 9am at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall.  We will also be lighting a beacon in the grounds of the Hall in the evening at 9:15pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

2 An Election to fill this vacancy will be held if, within FOURTEEN DAYS (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays) after the first publication of this Notice, a request for such an election is made in writing to the Returning Officer, Electoral Office, Wrexham County Borough Council, The Guildhall, Wrexham, by TEN electors for the Community.

3 If no such Notice requiring the holding of an Election is given then the vacancy will be filled by the Community Council by co-option.
