Glyntraian Community Council

Financial year ending 31 March 2026

  1. Date of announcement 11 June 2026
  • Each year the annual accounts are audited by the Auditor General for Wales. Prior to this date, any interested person has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts etc relating to them for 20 working days on reasonable notice. For the year ended 31 March 2026, these documents will be available on reasonable notice on application to:

commencing on               06 July 2026

and ending on                   31 July 2026

  • From 14 September 2026, until the audit has been completed, Local Government Electors and their representatives also have:
  • the right to question the Auditor General about the accounts.
  • the right to attend before the Auditor General and make objections to the accounts or any item in them. Written notice of an objection must first be given to the Auditor General. A copy of the written notice must also be given to the council.

The audit is being conducted under the provisions of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004, the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 and the Auditor General for Wales’ Code of Audit Practice.

Ceiriog Valley Drop in Service

Citizens Advice offers free independent impartial, confidential advice on any topic, including employment, benefits and debt issues. Case workers will be at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall on the following dates:

Tuesday 7th July 2026 from 10:30 to 1.30pm

Tuesday 1st Sept 2026 from 10:30 to 1.30pm

Tuesday 3rd Nov 2026 from 10:30 to 1.30pm

No appointment is necessary for The Citizens Advice Outreach drop-in service. This service is for residents of the Ceiriog Valley.

Pride in Place Impact Fund

Pride in Place

Wrexham Council has allocated UK Government Pride in Place impact funding equally to each Community Council area in Wrexham City and Borough. Glyntraian Community Council will have access to up to £22,000 of this funding in each of the next two financial years.

The Council invites initial ideas for using this funding, which can be applied to capital spending such as refurbishing community-owned buildings or spaces, or equipment purchase for community groups, in three objective areas: Community Spaces, Public Spaces, High Street and Town Centre Revitalisation. It is restricted to capital spending only and cannot be used for running costs or wages.

Full details of the criteria for funding projects under this scheme and how to apply are expected to be available from April from the Clerk or Glyntraian Council website and the Wrexham Council website.

Notice of Co-Option

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Glyntraian Community

Council intends to Co-opt 3 member(s) to fill the vacancies that exist in

the office of Councillor for the Glyntraian Community (Ward).

Expressions of interest are being sought from members of the public who meet the following qualifications and are interested in representing their community on the aforementioned Community Council.  You must be a British, Commonwealth, Irish or a European Union citizen and be 18 years of age or over; and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • registered as a local government elector for the area named above; or
  • during the whole of the last 12 months occupied as owner or tenant land or other premises in the community named above; or
  • your principal or only place of work during the last 12 months has been in the community named above; or
  • you have during the whole of the last 12 months resided in the Commuinity or with 4.8 kilometres of it.[1]
