Notice of Road Closure

Wrexham County Borough Council intends to make a TEMPORARY (PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 effective from 26/02/24 prohibiting any vehicle from using that length of the B4500 from Castle Road to Castle Mill from its junction with Station Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 768 meters to its junction with the Road to Weston Rhyn, Chirk to enable tree cutting works to be carried out.

There is no alternative route as access through the closure will be maintained but traffic and pedestrians may have to wait for a short period until it is safe to travel through.

The prohibition is expected to last for 2 weeks, or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.

Safety on the B4500

At the start of the Glyntraian Community Council meeting on Wednesday 4th October 2023, members of the public will have the opportunity to express their views and concerns about safety on the B4500. The meeting will start at 6.30pm at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall. This agenda item is scheduled to last until 6:50pm.

1          Notice is hereby given that 3 vacancies exist in the Office of Councillor for the Community of Glyntraian

2          An Election to fill these vacancies will be held if within FOURTEEN DAYS (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays) after the first publication of this Notice a request for such an election is made in writing to the Chief Executive & Returning Officer, Electoral Office, Wrexham County Borough Council, The Guildhall, Wrexham, by TEN electors for the Community.

3          If no such Notice requiring the holding of an Election is given then the vacancies will be filled by the Community Council by co-option.

Community Warm Space

To support residents through the national energy crisis our Community Agent, Davena Davies,  and Cllr Robin Boston have opened a community warm space at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall to help anyone struggling to heat their home. This is open on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am – 4pm.  

Our warm space is a heated, safe and friendly place where you can comfortably spend time chatting to others. It is free to use, and we are offering hot drinks and light refreshments, activities, and other services such as free Wi-Fi.

Brunch Club (cost £2) will continue to run on Tuesdays between 11am to 1pm.

Everyone is welcome.

Having received the very sad news of the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on behalf of Glyntraian Community Council, I offer our sincere condolences to the Royal Family in this time of sorrow. Our sympathies also go out to all those affected by this sad news in whatever way.
